Tutorial in Adobe Audition 3.0

Computer beginners and professionals will find helpful lessons, tutorials and link references on this website. I have been involved in multimedia and new creative arts for over fifteen years. I took my first computer course in 1982. So, I'm an old timer. I have degrees in business and communications and broadcasting and have also chalked a couple of years of computer programming courses. I work in public access television production and also do professional photography on the side .... in my spare time. Oh yea, one of my jobs was working for a major internet company as a technical support specialist. These pages are from notes I took over the years. Tutorial in Adobe Audition 3.0

Cleaning Up Audio
Track Set and ready to edit
The bar above the audio track should all be green. If it isn't, then there is more audio to the right and whatever effects you apply to the track will only get applied to where the green bar goes to. So make sure that your entire audio file is represented with a green bar above it if you want the entire track to be effected by the filtering or effect. Keep hitting the minus key until you see the area.

Highlight the dead air area in front of your audio track.

Effects - Restoration
Capture Noise Reduction Profile (Alt-N)

Wait for it to complete
Double Click
Highlight entire area

Go to Effects
Restoration
Noise Reduction (Yellow area is the noise)
Click OK

Double click area again
Effects - Restoration
Hiss Reduction
Light Standard Reduction
Click OK

Take the dead air area in front of the audio track, highlight it and Right Click and select MUTE
Do the same thing at the close of the audio track

Go back into multitrack view

Switch over to FX (effects) [select the effects that you'd like]
Amplitude and Compression
Amplify
Adjust it to what you want or go INTO PRESETS
Boost the volume

Hit the spacebar to preview

Multiband Compressor
There is a button for internet delivery

Another one is
Filter - EQ
Parametric Equalizer [look into PRESETS] - old time radio
You can change the bass and treble by manipulating the graphic

Static - cleaning static up
Go to Effects Tab
Restoration
Click POP Eliminator
Hit OK

Still has static so
Go to Effects
Restoration
Automatic Phase Correction
Use dropdown and choose Repair
Click OK

Go into parametric equalizer and take the bass down
