Basic Tutorial in Adobe Audition

Computer beginners and professionals will find helpful lessons, tutorials and link references on this website. I have been involved in multimedia and new creative arts for over fifteen years. I took my first computer course in 1982. So, I'm an old timer. I have degrees in business and communications and broadcasting and have also chalked a couple of years of computer programming courses. I work in public access television production and also do professional photography on the side .... in my spare time. Oh yea, one of my jobs was working for a major internet company as a technical support specialist. These pages are from notes I took over the years. Basic Tutorial in Adobe Audition



This is a lesson using Adobe Audition 1.5 (the lesson will help you learn 3.0 too)
1. Open up a file (Import) 2. Drag over to the right onto the multitrack menu 3. Loop - Stretch the loop 4. Import Loop 5. Drag yellow slider to zero back 6. Starts at zero 7. Space bar to play or click the play button 8. Edit - bring in a track 9. Find a spot where you can edit music good. Zoom in so you can see the waves better 10. Duplicate - Zoom in to see the beginning (drag over it to highlight it) Right click select COPY, Right click PASTE 11. Zero Back, then play 12. Could undo or highlight and drag back to the beginning and click DELETE and it's gone> 13. Just keep cutting and editing until you get it to sound like you want it to. 14. Effects - Select area, go to effects - Go to Time Switches (stretch it) so it slows down. 100 is normal. Below 100 will be a slower tempo. Click PREVIEW at the bottom and you can listen to it. 15. Play with volume. Click in box and drag down or up. Boost up to 8 on this piece may be too loud. 16. Take entire wave AMPLITUDE ten AMPLIFY 17. HARD LIMIT IT - It takes it as loud as it can to its limit.
