Editing and Effects Tutorial in Adobe Audition




1. Go to multitrack view (nondestructive editing) 2. Effects Panel - Kick Snare Loop Track 3. Solo the track and listen to it dry 4. Add REVERB - Go to Effects Panel - Go to DELAY EFFECTS 5. Grab Studio REVERB and drag and drop it right onto the track 6. It brings up the TRACK EFFECTS rack. It allows us to see the input and output levels of the track 7. Green button is the on off switch. Also the pre and post fader switch and a freeze option 8. It can be unfrozen at any time as well. 9. We can modify the settings as we play it back (panel is dockable) 10. Wind back 11. Modification s to wet / dry balance of the track. 12. Unsolo the track and play it. 13. If we want to be destructive, we double click on it and bring it into the EDIT VIEW 14. Once you click OK in the EDIT VIEW - it will permanently change your file. 15. You can undo, but once you save, you cannot undo 16. Create FAVORITES - Fade in, fade out 17. Allows you recall common tasks very quickly 18. Multitrack (Audition 2.0) 19. Recall workspace and reset the screen 20. Hybrid Tool - Allows you to RIGHT CLICK to select and LEFT CLICK TO move 21. Reference copies, unique copies 22. Time selection tool - mixdown or bounce 23. SCRUB TOOL - grab playhead (current time indicator - yellow triangle) if we select the scrub tool and just click you can see that we are just scrubbing that particular place> 24. Tape style scrub. .... another option shuttle type operation 25. Click into EDIT VIEW - scrub tool is here also. 26. Switch back to time selection tool 27. Scroll horizontally - left click and drag 28. Time line ruler - wheel mouse - zoom up or down. 29. Move to Y access and zoom up and down. 30. VIEW - Spectral frequency display - frequency over time. Frequency along Y Axis, time along the X Axis 31. Adding effects to specific frequency range 32. Select marquee tool make rectangular selection 33. Lasoo tool. Non rectangular selections - Can only be used inside of the Spectral Frequency Display - cannot be used in the Waveform display.
