Tutorial in Adobe Audition
Creating Karaoke Tracks Using Adobe Audition 3.0

   
Adobe 3.0
1.  Creating custom karaoke track using music you already own and taking out the vocals.
2.  Multitrack view - take song - double click on file area.
3.  Drag into timeline
4.  See where vocals start at.
5.  Right click and split the track and take out
6.  Hear the lead vocals so you can take them out
7.  EFFECTS TAB - drop down and go to STEREO IMAGERY
8.  CENTER CHANNEL EXTRACTOR
9.  You can change the center channel to the left, right, etc.
10.  Drop down for PRESETS
11.  Vocal Remove, sing along. .... we're going to hit Karaoke
12.  Move the slider back and forth - go back to ZERO to hear the full song
13.  On different channels - when you go to plus decible side - you are isolating the vocal piece and minus decible  at -20 for no vocal..  -48 will give you distortion and robic sound - stay away from that.
14.  Go just past the recommended preset - so subtle
15.  X out of that
16.  Go back to multitrack view - and there's your background vocals.
17.  When you're done. Go to FILE - EXPORT - AUDIO MIXDOWN and SAVE and rename
